Johnson Eagles; Norwich Tornado golf clinches East Division Championship
WINDSOR – For the first time in over a week, Norwich varsity golf took to the road in a match that proved to be just as great as their recent home ones.
Norwich would earn the 196 to 202 win over Windsor at Golden Oak Golf Course, which is a 35 par course. Impressively for Norwich in this win, was the mere fact that with this latest win, Norwich moves to 10-1 on the season while also clinching the east division championship.
Leading the way on the road for the Tornado was senior Ryan Johnson. Johnson earned the medalist spot with his Eagle on the course when he managed a low for the day at 33. Johnson was followed by Nate Scheer who shot a 39, Brenon Maynard who shot 40, Alex Gage and Griffon Clipston who each managed a 42, and AJ Little who recorded a 56.
In the loss for Windsor, their medalist was Tim Buchek with a 37, followed by Tim Mills with a 39, Tim Mills with a 40, Andrew Saar and Max Evans with a 43, and Zach Carlson with a 48.
Next up for Norwich (10-1) they will return home for a matchup against Seton Catholic at the Canasawacta Country Club on Monday, Oct. 3.
