2016 Conwicke Stock invitational

ENDICOTT – Norwich varsity cross country enjoyed another solid invitational in 2016, as they made the best of their limited numbers, with six boys and one girl competing in the meet at the varsity level.
Of those seven Tornado athletes competing this past Oct. 8, in Endicott, both Ben Ericksen and Nicole Jeffrey claimed second place overall finishes on the course.
Of the 79 runners at the boys varsity level, Ericksen of Norwich finished in second behind the champion from Horseheads, Devin Woodworth. Woodworth managed a time of 16:47 for the win, while Ericksen edged his way into second with a time of 17:00, beating out Jon Miller of Oneonta by just six seconds.
Following Ericksen on the boys side was Marcus Cashman in seventh with a time of 17:44, Nick Loscavio in 18th with a time of 18:22, O'Rion Slater in 27th with a time of 19:01, Stanton Baker in 47th with a time of 20:09, Michael Cardoza in 50th with a time of 20:17, and Jacob Russell in 63rd with a time of 21:29 for a team finish in fifth place.
On the girls side, Norwich's lone runner was Nicole Jeffrey who did not fail to impress, as she also claimed a second place finish in the girls varsity. Jeffrey took home a second place finish behind Windsor's Kaylee Stone who ran a winning time of 19:43, while Jeffrey posted a time of 20:49.

Next up for the Tornado runners, they will be heading to Susquehanna Valley for another meet on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
