Improved play from S-E leads to rematch win

SHERBURNE – The S-E varsity field hockey team pulled off a miraculous 2-0 win over Sauquoit Valley in a revenge game from an earlier season loss.

The rematch on Friday, Oct. 7, featured an improved S-E team that secured 10 shots on goal in the contest, adding 13 corners.

“Added pressure on the goalie after the initial shot,” said S-E head coach of the improved play in this game. “We were much more aggressive in the circle.”

Earlier in the season, the S-E girls lost a game to Sauquoit Valley in a landslide at 4-0, however, this time around with an improved defensive effort as well, S-E held their visitors to 0-0 halftime score.
