Chenango Historical Society unveils NBT exhibit
NORWICH–At an exhibit opening reflecting the 160 years of merits and successes for Norwich's NBT Bank, the Chenango County Historical Society hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.
Out with the old, and in with the old; staff and volunteers alike CCHS spent months conceptualizing, designing and building the exhibit that includes vintage NBT signage, promotional items and even a vintage styled tellers window.
Serving as the third component in the Commerce Exhibit room, NBT joins the museum's focus on local commerce that includes historical artifacts and displays of Norwich Pharmaceuticals and New Berlin's Preferred Mutual Insurance Company.
On behalf of NBT, we're thankful that we've been fortunate enough to be a part of the City of Norwich and Chenango County for the last 160 years, which is pretty amazing” said Tom Sutton, Territory Manager for NBT. “We are pleased to be able to partner with the Chenango County Historical Society, and the efforts that the Museum and the Society does to preserve the rich cultural history of local businesses such as NBT.”
CCHS Executive Directer Sarah Mahan indicated that long term exhibit will see some periodic changes with regard to artifacts and displays, but that the overall historical interpretation will remain into the foreseeable future.
