Hornets too much for lady Trojans

GREENE – The Trojan varsity volleyball team showed off once again their improved play of late, however, it was too little too late as they fell 3-0 to Harpursville-Afton.
The matchup on Thursday, Oct. 13, gave the crowd quite a show with impressively close set scores for such a lopsided final score.
The Hornets managed wins of 25-21, 25-20, and 25-17 for their 3-0 shutout win over Greene.
In the win for the Hornets, Chloe Dodd impressed with her 13 aces, while defensively Tienna Avery enjoyed a night with her 22 assists. Dodd and Avery were followed by Amanda Greenwood with nine kills, and Conner Humphrey with six digs.
In the loss for Greene, senior Heaven Parrish managed three aces, and four kills, while Cheyenne Rich tacked on three aces of her own. Kira Bush recorded two assists.
“Again, real good match,” said Greene head coach Mary McBride.
Next up for Greene, they will play in the MAC mini tournament this coming Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m.
