Storm sweeps Deposit at home moves on in MAC tournament

NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley varsity volleyball team overcame a true dogfight when faced with visiting Deposit, overcoming each tough set for the 3-0 win.
Although the final score was heavily in UV's favor, each set score truly showed how close the match was.
“It was a great match played by both sides,” said Unadilla Valley head coach Bridget McHugh.
Unadilla Valley earned the first match point when they defeated Deposit 25-21, a score that would be repeated in the second set for another UV win. The third set, UV would solidify their home win in the MAC tournament with a 25-19 set, as they will now move on to play on Oct 21.
In the win for the Storm Erin Kelly had seven aces and five assists, Keana Schrag had five aces and a massive 17 digs, Megan Carpenter, Gina DelSontro and Bailey Miller each had three kills and Sara Nogaret and Tia Peck each had four digs.

“Post-season is why we play the game, and we hope to continue to play as a family throughout the remaining weeks,” said coach McHugh.
Unadilla Valley (7-4 overall) will advance in the MAC league tournament, but it is unknown who they will face this coming Friday, Oct 21.
