Sears Hometown Store closing

NORWICH – The Sears Hometown Store within Curtis Lumber on Hale Street in Norwich will be closing on November 14. The experimental 'store-within-a-store' program originally opened in 2014 as a new concept program for Sears, but in what may be considered a reflection of problems that Sears is experiencing nationally, it is now coming to an end.

James Carpenter, Director of Marketing for Curtis Lumber, said, “Curtis Lumber remains very strong and is disappointed to lose the ability to provide appliances that complemented their award winning kitchen designs by long-time kitchen designer Donna Hart.”

Carpenter went on to say that until November 14, the remaining Sears inventory will be liquidated at significantly discounted prices.
