Stewart’s issues sports drink recall

CHENANGO COUNTY—Frequent shoppers at Stewart’s convenience stores are being alerted of a voluntary recall posted by retailers corporate office.
The store has issued a recall on one of its drinks, specifically “Sportade Fruit Punch"—packaged in 20-ounce bottles. The bottles have a black label with a red plastic cap.
The affected bottles have an expiration date of DEC 02, which can be found on the neck of the bottle, and the UPC code: 0 82086 31006 8.
The retailer had indicated that the punch may have milk in it, and that about 1,600 bottles were distributed all across upstate New York and Southern Vermont.
All other expiration code dates of Sportade Fruit Punch are not affected by this recall.
Steward says customers who purchased the drink with a code date of DEC 02, are urged to return them to their local Stewart’s Shops for a full refund.
Likewise, no illnesses have been reported at this point in connection to the problem.
