Norwich YMCA travel basketball and youth basketball signups

NORWICH – The Norwich Family YMCA has announced tryouts for their upcoming boys and girls travel basketball leagues.
The boys league is designed for boys in 4th through 6th grade, and must be in 4th grade or above to tryout. The tryouts for this league have been scheduled for November 1 and 3, at the Norwich YMCA from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Travel team tryouts for girls league – grades 5th and 6th grade – will be taking place on November 8, and 9 at the Norwich YMCA from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Both the boys and girls travel leagues will compete against teams in Vestal, Chenango Forks, Greene, Oneonta, Chenango Valley, and Endicott. Parents are reminded that they should be prepared for the considerable amount of traveling as a part of the team if their son or daughter does in-fact make one of the travel teams.
The YMCA will also be accepting registrations for their youth basketball leagues, the two age divisions for the program will be three to five year olds and six to 12-year-olds, both will be co-ed.
If a child tries out for the travel league, but does not make the team, the YMCA welcomes them to take part in the youth basketball program.
To register for any of the leagues, visit the front desk at the YMCA or visit their website at www.norwichymca.com for a downloadable form.
