Norwich man arrested in connection with armed robbery

NORWICH – On Nov. 18, at approximately 2 p.m., following an investigation of an armed robbery at the Speedway Gas Station, located at 6157 State Highway 12, in the Town of Norwich earlier that morning, the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jeremy M. Farnsworth, 36, from the City of Norwich for robbery in the second degree. The State Police and City of Norwich Police Department assisted with the investigation.

In the event of the robbery, it is alleged that Farnsworth entered the Speedway Gas Station and displayed a black handgun in his waistband. During this time Farnsworth demanded cash from the store employee and eventually fled with over $400 in cash. Farnsworth was located in the Town of Norwich and later taken to the Sheriff’s Office for an interview. He is currently in custody at the Chenango County Correctional Facility awaiting his arraignment.
