NORWICH – The Norwich Police Department opted to take part in ‘No Shave November’ this year, so that they could donate the funds they raised to charity.

Officer Alicia Woodard said each officer pledged a minimum donation and was granted a month-long waiver from the department policy restricting facial hair.

Officers were authorized to grow a beard from Nov. 2 through Nov. 30. The requirements were such that the facial hair be trimmed, well-groomed, and have a neat and professional appearance.

Wednesday, Nov. 30, the Norwich Police presented a check in the amount of $400 to A. Jones for the money to be donated to the St. Baldricks foundation.
