Windsor hands Norwich swimmers another loss
WINDSOR – The Norwich boys varsity swimming team suffered a loss at the hands of the Black Knights of Windsor by a score of 88-58.
The 30-point loss for Norwich had some bright spots, as Norwich was able to win half of the events – taking six out of 12, however, Windsor's depth would secure the Black Knight victory.
Below is the winner at each of the twelve events:
• 200-yard medley relay: Norwich's relay swam for the win with a time of 2:09.70.
• 200 freestyle: Dustin Mills of Windsor took the win with a time of 2:01.79.
• 200 individual medley: Griffin Frank of Norwich claimed the win in the event with a time of 2:26.23.
• 50 freestyle: Gunnar Ford of Windsor raced to a time of 27.65 for the first place spot.
• Diving: Dante Kimbrough of Windsor dominated the event with a score of 302.80.
• 100 butterfly: Norwich's Mathew Gigilio took home first place in the event after he posted a time of 1:09.90.
• 100 freestyle: Gunnar Ford of Windsor took home his second first place of the night with a time of 1:01.63.
• 500 freestyle: Following Ford's double win, Norwich's Dustin Mills followed suit and took his second win home with a time of 5:47.89.
• 200 free relay: Norwich's relay team of Griffin Frank, Cameron Pittsley, Mathew Gigilio, and Jacob Shoemaker raced to the win with a time of 1:53.03.
• 100 backstroke: Norwich made it three wins in a row when Aiden Sullivan took home the win in the event after posting a winning time of 1:14.75.
• 100 breaststroke: Chris DeJohn of Windsor helped finish out the meet when he won his event with a time of 1:19.46.
• 400 freestyle relay: Norwich claimed the final win on the night, when they’re relay team posted a sub five minute time in the event, taking home the last win with a time of 4:51.99.
Next up for Norwich's swim team (0-2 overall), they will be home next against Binghamton on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 5:30 p.m.
