Smyrna man allegedly assaults neighbor
SMYRNA- On Dec. 10, at approximately 3:11 a.m., the New York State Police arrested Andrew H. Carnrike, 25, of Smyrna, for the felony charge of assault in the second degree, the misdemeanor of criminal obstruction of breathing, and the violation of harassment in the second degree.
Carnrike's arrest occurred after troopers responded to a verbal dispute that had occurred at a home in the Village of Smyrna. An investigation determined that during the dispute, Carnrike had allegedly pushed and grabbed the victim by the throat before following said victim when the victim decided to run to a neighbor’s home for help. After following the victim inside, Carnrike then allegedly assaulted his neighbor with a household item causing injuries. It was reported that Carnrike then fled the scene.
