S-E boys bowling draws to .500 record after win over West Canada

SHERBURNE – The boys varsity bowling team at Sherburne-Earlville has battled their way to a respectable 2-2 record thus far in the 2016-2017 season – with their most recent win over West Canada by a score of 5-0.

“We have a very young team this year with all of our varsity graduating last year. We are in a rebuild mode. I believe this team has a lot of talent. We are working hard through practice and we are starting to see improvements,” said Sherburne-Earlville head coach Don Philhower.

• S-E against West Canada, on Dec. 13: The Marauders dominated West Canada by a winning score of 5-0, and a total pin count of 2,164-1,855.

S-E posted a high game in this matchup of 219, which was bowled Wyatt Young. Young also grabbed the high series with a 496.

For West Canada it was Jacob Lyon who rolled both the high game and series at 167 and 454 respectively.

• S-E against Sauquoit Valley, on Dec. 6: The Marauders defeated Sauquoit Valley by a score of 4-1 and a total pin count of 2,424-2,322.

Leading S-E to their first victory on the year was Kaleb Elliot who rolled both the high game and high series for the Marauders with scores of 225 and 626.

For Suoquoit Valley in the loss it was Derek Dureheimer who snagged both the game and series by scores of 213 and 576 respectively.
