Oxford bowlers bring home the double win

OXFORD – The Oxford boys and girls varsity teams each enjoyed shutout 4-0 wins on the day when they destroyed the visiting Afton Crimson Knights.

For the boys side of the matchup on Dec. 9, Oxford would earn the win in total pin count as well with a win at 2,155-1,416. Leading the charge for the Blackhawks was Phil Smith who managed a game high of 194. Smith produced a 513 series for the best on his team, to which he was closely followed by Corey Turner who managed a 494 series.

The Crimson Knights saw their best performance come from Troy Mercilliot who rolled a game high 140 for Afton as well as a series high 368.

On the girls side for the Blackhawks they would ultimately dominate the lady Crimson Knights for the win by a score of 2,92-868.
