Friends of Rogers offers outdoor fun with ‘Wonders of Winter’
SHERBURNE - Friends of Rogers is ready to host another action packed adventure during the holiday break from Dec. 26-30, allowing children ages 7-10 the opportunity to explore Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne and learn about the great outdoors.
During “Wonders of Winter,” participants will hike the trails, conduct experiments, explore the mysteries of the forest, learn about the natural world, and make new friends. Crafts, games and snacks add to the fun!
“We have a variety of exciting activities planned this season,” said Sarah Freedman, Friends of Rogers environmental educator. “The opportunity for kids to get outside and learn new things is always an adventure.”
Wonders of Winter will be $30 for members and $35 for not-yet-members. Also available are activities before (8-9 a.m.) and after (4-5:30 p.m.) for an additional $7.50 per session, per child.
“This is an exciting opportunity for youth around our region,” said Simon Solomon, Friends of Rogers executive director. “We are extremely grateful to NBT Bank for partnering with us. We rely on the generosity of local businesses to support our unique program offerings. Thanks to sponsors like NBT Bank, we are able to continue providing fun and engaging alternatives to sedentary winter activities.”
Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for people of all ages. The mission of the Friends of Rogers is to provide outstanding educational opportunities that excite, inspire, and motivate people of all ages to enjoy, understand, appreciate and protect our natural environment.
