Former Child Protective Services worker admits to falsely reporting
NORWICH- During Norwich City court on Dec. 20, Tina Reilly a former Department of Social Services employee changed her plea of not guilty to guilty to one count of falsely reporting an incident in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor.
After the change of plea was accepted by both the Judge and First Assistant District Attorney Michael D. Ferrarese, Reilly was then sentenced to 30 days of incarceration at the Chenango County Correctional Facility with permanent orders of protection for the victims involved.
Wednesday, when contacting the District Attorney's Office, Assistant District Attorney Laura Parker made reference to this case as “an appalling crime that was committed.”
Parker also said that Reilly is due to report to the county's correctional facility after the holidays and conditional terms were placed once the sentence was completed.
DSS was contacted and did confirm that Reilly is no longer an employee.
