Norwich boys bowling have emerged for another dominant year; boys and girls split with JC
NORWICH – The Norwich varsity boys and girls bowling teams – led by head coach Arthur Rigas – have slashed their way into the new year splitting with Johnson City most recently.
On the boys side, who currently sit in first place in the STAC East, they added four more points to their already impressive season when they glided to a 4-1 win over the Wildcats.
Impressively, Norwich has only dropped seven game points on the season, while dominating their opponents with now 33 wins.
For Norwich they claimed the series high when Dylan Gladstone rolled his way into a 643 series against Johnson City. Taking the game high for the Norwich boys was Nick Deady with his game two of 257.
For Johnson City, who is currently who is currently in last place in the STAC Central division, they enjoyed a solid 645 series from Alex Molyneaux, on the back of his game high at 256 for JC.
On the girls side, they have had a slightly tougher time in the wins column thus far this season, and most recently fell to Johnson City 1-4. On the season, the Norwich girls are in fourth out of five places in the STAC East Division, after winning just six games on the season and dropping 34.
Leading Norwich in their matchup with Johnson City was Morgan Conkling who snagged a 402 series for the team high. Conkling also grabbed the game high for the lady Tornado when she bowled a 158 in the third game, edging out her teammate Megan Turner who had a game high of 154.
For Johnson City, they were led to their win by Courtney Nowetner, who notched the game and series high with her series high of 457, and game high of 182.
Next up for the boys and girls varsity bowling teams for Norwich, they will both be heading to Windsor to play at Sunset Lanes at 3:40 p.m. later on in the day on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
