NORWICH – The Mid-York Concert Band (MYCB), under the direction of Mark D. Sands, is beginning its rehearsal in preparation for their Spring Concert on May 21, 2017. According to Sands, his goal with the MYCB is to offer a quality ensemble with which area band instrumentalists can perform. The MYCB is reportedly the only ensemble in the immediate area that rehearses and performs through the fall and spring months.

At December's holiday concert, the MYCB had 44 musicians perform, but Sands says they are always looking to grow and are welcoming all interested wind and percussion musicians to join.

“We do have a definite need for oboes, clarinets, bass clarinets, trumpets, French horns, and trombones,” said Sands. He went on to say that he hopes that area musicians will take the opportunity to check out and join the MYCB.
