Man accused of vehicular assault

NORWICH – On Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, New York State Police at Norwich responded to a Chenango County 911 report of a car versus pedestrian serious personal injury accident on Gilmore Lane in the Town of Norwich.
The investigation determined that the driver Brandon W. Jones, 32, of Norwich, NY was in a verbal dispute with his wife who was a passenger in his 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck.
According to authorities, just after she had exited the vehicle, she was struck by the truck, causing serious injuries. She was transported to Wilson Hospital by Norwich Ambulance.
Jones was arrested for the felony of vehicular assault in the second degree and the misdemeanor of driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .10%.
He was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
Jones is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Norwich Court on January 24, 2017.
State Police say the investigation is continuing.
