Rome Free Academy drops S-E 100-74

ROME – The Sherburne-Earlville boys swimming and diving team traveled north to Rome Free Academy on Dec. 31, falling to the Black Knights by a score of 100-74.
This meet on Tuesday afternoon, marked the Marauders 13th contest of the season – this time around bringing home four individual first place finishes.
Ben Rinaldo saw the first victory for S-E in the 200 freestyle. Rinaldo secured his first place finish in the event with his winning time of 2:14.41.
The Butterfly yielded a second S-E winner – Sean McDaniel who edged out his teammate Caleb Larcher for first with his winning time of 1:12.52.
Braeden Wilson of Sherburne-Earlville – only one event later – chased down the win in the 100 freestyle with his top time of 57:08.
The Marauders would have to wait until the final event in the meet to see another first place finish as their relay team in the 400 freestyle – Caleb Larcher, Ben Rinaldo, Braeden Wilson and anchor, Mathew Ryan swam to a solid time for the win at 4:10.65.
