Lady Marauder bowlers celebrate senior night with a win

EARLVILLE – The Sherburne-Earlville girl’s varsity bowling team kept up their fantastic form recently, winning two more matches to complete their season – taking their record to 12-1.
On Tuesday, Jan. 31, S-E faced off against Cooperstown, and came out victors on a final score of 1,981 total pins to 1,606.
During the three-game series, the Marauders bowled games of 697, 654 and 630 on their way to winning the match comfortably.
Jordyn Paul had a great match, as she had the highest single-game score of the match, with a 181 in game one, as well as the best series score, with a 515. Liesa Armstrong also had a strong outing, finishing with a 431 three-game series.
That following Thursday, Feb. 2, the Marauders hosted Canastota on their senior night which was held at Hi-Skor Lanes in Earlville. Once again for S-E, they came away with the spoils, winning by a margin of 216 pins, on a scoreline of 2,190 total pins to 1,974.
In what was a much closer match, a terrific performance in game two of the three-game series, where the Marauders scored 823, was the defining moment of the match, leading to the win for S-E.
Seniors Liesa Armstrong and Ashlee Hill both had solid performances, finishing with a 477 and a 331 three-game series each respectively. Jordyn Paul had a night to remember, as she broke her personal record for a match, notching a three-game series total of 606.
Armstrong finishes her senior season on top, with the team high in series and games for the 2016-2017 season – snagging a high of a 650 series with a 267 high game. Armstrong grabbed 27 Turkeys to her credit.
Hill finishes with her season high for a series and game come at 362 and 136, respectively.
Finishing the 2016-2017 season, S-E successfully snagged a nifty league record of 12-1, with a divisional record of 7-1.
S-E travelled to Mattydale for the Sectional Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 5, before they ready to head to Utica this Tuesday, Feb 7, for the Center State Conference Tournament.
