Oxford man arrested after driving with a forged inspection sticker

CANDOR- On February 6, 2017, at approximately 9:15 a.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Henry C. Grant Jr.,48, from Oxford, NY for the misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, False Inspection Sticker and several other traffic violations.
This arrest occurred after a traffic stop when a trooper saw an improper inspection sticker on a vehicle being driven on Honeypot Road in the Town of Candor. An investigation determined that the Grant had placed a fake NYS inspection certificate on the windshield of his 1998 Toyota 4Runner. A further investigation determined that he was driving with a suspended license, had switched plates on the vehicle and was driving without insurance. An inventory of his vehicle later found that he unlawfully possessed about three grams of methamphetamine.
Grant was arraigned in the Candor Town Court and will reappear on March 6, 2017.
