Earlville Troop 5 Boy Scouts host Klondike Derby
EARLVILLE – For just the second time in over 35 years, the Earlville Troop 5 Boy Scouts hosted the Klondike Derby on Saturday, February 4, attracting about 50 individuals to register for the event.
Earlville Troop 5 Secretary and Committee member Jodi O'Dell reports that the presence of snow at this year's event made for a great time for the Troops, even though the temperature was frigid.
In addition to Earlville Troop 5, other Troops in attendance included: Cazenovia Troop 18; DeRuyter Troop 14; Munnsville Troop 7; and Sherburne Troop 66.
The Earlville Ham Radio group volunteered their time at the event, keeping track of the schedule and making sure each Troop moved from station-to-station in a timely, organized fashion. Additionally, the Earlville Troop 5 Boy Scouts would like to thank other contributors to this year's Klondike Derby including: the Earlville Fire Department; Stewart's Shops of Sherburne; Gilligan's; Golden Artist Colors; Sherburne Big M; Price Chopper of Hamilton; Village of Earlville; Troop Leaders of Earlville Troop 5 Boy Scouts; and parents of Earlville Troup 5 Boy Scouts.
