Jon Heggie remains unbeaten at 12-0, dominates rematch with O'Neil
OXFORD – In what proved to be a mere warmup match for Oxford senior Jon Heggie – the amateur boxer is becoming a local legend as he now holds a successful 12-0 record.
This most recent fight, coming mid-February, saw Heggie nearly knock out his opponent Gregg O'Neil. This rematch of Heggie and O'Neil happened due to a previous opponent dropping out for unforeseen reasons at the last moment.
Regardless of the situation, Heggie took full advantage as he purely dominated the match from start to finish.
“Jon had plenty of support, as Elmira College baseball team members were there in support, along with Zack Race from Norwich, Jason Miller and a slew of others,” said Jon's father Perter Heggie.
