Cutting Jr. that at approximately 10:45 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2017, Chenango County Sheriff’s Office investigators, in conjunction with officers from the Oxford and Norwich Police Departments were conducting an operation in the Village of Oxford.
Per a release from sheriff, the suspected vehicle failed to comply and officers were then led on an approximate eight mile pursuit from Oxford to Preston. The pursuit was said to have ended on Moon Hill Road in the Town of Plymouth.
It was reported that the suspect vehicle had crashed into a tree and the occupants of the vehicle then fled on foot.
Officers searched for approximately two and a half hours on foot before calling off the search of the individuals.
It was at approximately 3 a.m. Wednesday morning, March 8, when the Chenango County 911 Center received a call from a resident in the area reporting two individuals in the area attempting to get assistance from the caller.
Deputies then responded to the residence and located the two suspects from the earlier pursuit.
Both suspects, one male and one female, were transported to UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the crash.
Both have been released from the hospital and are in the custody of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office as of 9:15 a.m., Wednesday.
According to authorities, this remains an active investigation and further information will be released as soon as it is made available.
The Sheriff’s Office is not looking for additional suspects.
