Two arrested, accused of meth sales in Norwich
NORWICH – Two Norwich residents sit in the local jail accused of drug sales.
A warrant was executed at 15 Gold Street, rear upstairs apartment, in Norwich on Monday.
Two individuals were taken into custody by authorities, Karlton Tompkins and Tiffany Vallance.
Both were arraigned in Norwich City Court in front of Judge James E. Downey Monday afternoon.
Tompkins stands accused of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class a misdemeanor.
Vallance is accused of the same charges.
According to Downey at the arraignment, Tompkins is accused of selling both methamphetamine and cocaine.
Vallance is accused of selling methamphetamine out of the residence.
At arraignment, Vallance said she and her co-defendant have a child, and she turned the child over to police so that her mother could take care of the child. She told the judge was born and raised in Watertown, NY.
Downey set bail for Tompkins at $25,000 cash bail, $50,000 bond.
Vallance’s bail was set at $5,000 cash, $10,000 bond, which was the recommendation from the District Attorney’s Office.
Felony hearings for the accused are set for Thursday morning in Norwich City Court.
No amounts of drugs said to have been recovered have been released by authorities.
Additional charges are said to be expected.
