A special ceremony was held at American Legion Post 189 in Norwich on Friday evening, March 10, for the promotion of Jeremy T. McNeil to Army Major. Prior to the oath of office, Patrick McNeil read the Promotion Proclamation stating, “The President of the United States has reposed special trust and confidence in the patriotism, valor, fidelity, and abilities of Jeremy McNeil. In view of these qualities and his demonstrated potential for increased responsibility, he is therefore promoted to Major with a date of rank 1 March 2017.” Colonel Jim Cushman then proceeded to facilitate Major McNeil's oath of office.
