Afton adult education sponsors the Giving Ready Adults a Study Pro
AFTON – Are you interested in earning a high school equivalency diploma, or improving your reading, writing and math skills? There are free, educational services available to you through Afton Central School’s Adult and Continuing Education program.
Afton Adult Education sponsors classes in area schools, workforce centers, and libraries. You may join a class at any time. Classes are free, and the work is individualized. Afton Central School will hold a session on Thursday in High School Library from 3:30-6:30 p.m., the CDO Workforce Center in Norwich will have one on Wednesday from 10-4 p.m., and for youths a session will be held Wednesday at the CDO Workforce in Oneonta from 11-2 p.m. and another session on Friday at the same location and time. On Tuesday and Thursday from 9-12 p.m., the Sidney Civic library will offer classes along with the Walton Elementary on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
For those unable to attend a class, there is a free home study program offered through the mail called GRASP (Giving Ready Adults a Study Program). This program is designed for motivated people 21-years-old or older, who work well on their own and possess good reading skills.
