B-G girls win, Bobcat boys place third at MAC league meet

BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford girls track and field team won the MAC league meet while B-G boys team took third place at the MAC meet held on Monday, April 24.

In addition to B-G, Oxford and Harpursville-Afton competed to make up the other rooted Chenango County teams – among the likes of Unatego and Sidney.

For the B-G boys, Nick Petrutoni claimed a first place victory in the 100m dash recording a time of 11.7 seconds. Following in Petrutoni’s footsteps was teammate Cordel Vandermark who won the high jump clearing 5’4”. Petrutoni also placed second in the long jump with a leap of 17’6”, the B-G 4x800m relay team also recorded a second place finish with a time of 10:26.

The Harpursville-Afton boys took first place in two events with Matt Johnson winning the 1600m with a speedy time of 4:52.8 as well as the 800m in a time of 2:08.3. HA’s Noah Roefs took second place in the 3200m event with a time of 12:08.6.

The Oxford boys grabbed a pair of third place finishes with Jaret Gates recording a time of 20.1 seconds in the 110m hurdles. Adhi Viswanathan was edged out by B-G’s Nick Petrutoni and Sidney’s Will Moore by a combined 0.2 seconds as Viswanathan timed 11.9 seconds in the 100m dash. Adam Brady had two fourth place finishes in the 400 and 800 meter races timing 59.3 seconds and 2:25 minutes respectively.
