Heartbreak for Trojans as they fall in first round of playoffs

MORAVIA - A storm halted the game in the fourth inning on Thursday, but Greene couldn’t make a thunderous comeback on Friday, as they fell to Moravia by the slimmest of margins in the first round of the Section IV, Class C playoffs.


Despite plating two runs in the top of the seventh inning, the Trojans fell to the Blue Devils by a single run, on a final score of 5-4.


On Thursday, Greene, the 12 seed, jumped out to a one run lead, before letting Moravia score four unanswered runs. The Trojans cut the deficit to just two right before a sudden downpour and lightning caused the game to be delayed.

Friday, both teams stood stagnant until the sixth inning, when Moravia’s Kaelyn Stanton struck an RBI single to give her side a three-run advantage.
