Local sisters organize second annual PMC Kids Bike Ride
NORWICH – Twin sisters Hannah and Brenna Baker have organized the second annual Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) Kids Bike Ride fundraiser to take place in Norwich this Sunday, June 4, at the Chenango County Fairgrounds from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The two Norwich High School sophomores raised $12,133 as part of their PMC Kids Bike Ride fundraising efforts last year, 100 percent of which went towards funding research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA.
Hannah and Brenna have been involved with PMC Kids Bike Rides since 2009.
Before organizing the event locally last year, the duo would travel to Rhode Island where they participated for a number of years as riders.
Ultimately, the sisters decided to bring the event to their hometown so that other children could participate in the ride while helping raise money for cancer research in hopes that one day, a cure will be found.
It's reported that Hannah and Brenna have planned an afternoon full of festivities for Sunday, including music, face-painting, games, and plenty of snacks and refreshments for all who attend.
If you have not pre-registered as a rider or a volunteer for Hannah and Brenna's fundraiser bike ride, you are nonetheless invited to come the day of the event and register.
All participants are asked to bring their own bicycle and helmet to the event.
