ELMIRA – In what proved to be a fantastic season, the Bainbridge-Guilford softball team just couldn’t go all the way, as they were defeated by the reigning Class C State Champions, the Elmira-Notre Dame squad in the Section IV, Class C semi-final on Friday, May 26.
Coming off of a gem of a game pitched by Kori Thornton in the quarterfinals, where she threw a no-hitter against Moravia, Notre Dame gave the Bobcats a little taste of their own medicine, proving the age-old saying ‘anything you can do, I can do better’ to be true, once more.
The Bobcats found themselves trailing by six runs after just the first two innings, and they were never able to mount any sort of comeback, due mainly in part to the sublime pitching performance from Notre Dames Izzy Milazzo.
