11th annual outdoor show encourages Southern Tier families to get outside and explore the outdoors

BATH, NY – The 11th annual Southern Tier Outdoor Show, scheduled for October 14-15, 2017 in Bath, New York, offers a variety of wildlife shows, exhibitors and interactive activities to help both sportsmen and their families explore the outdoors.
The show is moving this year to the Steuben County Fairgrounds off I-86, Exit 38, so local businesses and organizations can share their products and services to encourage participation in outdoor activities, promote environmental stewardship and offer outdoor awareness and education. The show is accepting new vendors and sponsors at SouthernTierOutdoorShow.com.
About 7,000 people flock to this show each October to spend a day enjoying exhibitors, demonstrations, wildlife shows and professional seminars. The $5 per person, $10 per car fee includes free parking, shows, activities and a show program. The show is open 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday. The event adds new features and vendors each year.
This year’s features include Matt “The Armless Archer” Stutzman, who holds a Guinness World Record for the longest accurate archery shot despite his lack of arms. Forever Wild Outdoors, whose national television show, Adrenaline Adventures, is on the Pursuit Channel, will bring co-hosts Gerry Rightmyer and Steven Shicker to offer several sportsman seminars. Animal shows include MorganEagle Falconry and the Bwana Jim Wildlife Show. Jim Beverly, a noted local retriever trainer, will give demonstrations and instruction for dog owners. And Ben Blegen, a member of the U.S.A. Ice Team, will bring a Kids Ice Camp to the show for the first time. There will also be a sanctioned Turkey Calling Contest for both adults and youth.
A key focus of the show is to get youth involved in outdoor activities, and there will be plenty of hands-on activities for them to try. They include archery, fishing, tomahawk throwing, the Bristol Mountain Aerial Rope Course, the Crosman Air Rifle Trailer and much more.
For adults, there is Crossbow testing, an Army hunting simulator, New York Big Buck Club trophy scoring, and numerous raffles including the grand prize for a 4-man Finger Lakes Waterfowl trip.
All this, plus around 150 exhibitors will be on site with a variety of outdoor products and services.
The food court will offer a dozen different choices of meals and snacks all day.
