NORWICH – On Wednesday, June 14, the intersection of Silver Street and Mechanic Street in Norwich was bustling with police activity.
According to New York State Police Senior Investigator Dan Ortiz, Troopers were serving a search warrant when they discovered unidentified chemicals.
“We're not sure what they are, so there's a protocol we have to follow to get a team here to analyze it,” said Ortiz.
Later in the day, personnel in hazmat suits were seen entering and exiting the residence.
Consequently, The Evening Sun reached out to state police a number of times to query if any arrests had been made and if said chemicals had been analyzed. State Police had not yet released any further information by The Evening Sun's print time.
Further details will be published once made available by law enforcement.
