2nd annual Kreiner/Loomis antique show slated for next weekend

SOUTH PLYMOUTH – It has been said that good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget.

Floyd Loomis, Larry “Buster” Kreiner, and Floyd's son Patric embodied this bond before their passing in 2002, 2008, and 2014 respectively. The trio left behind a legacy revolving around a passion they each shared: a love for antique hit-and-miss engines, and the power of equipment of the past.

The 2nd annual Kreiner/Loomis antique gas engine-tractor-auto show is set to take place from June 23 to June 25.

After last year's first Kreiner/Loomis antique show was a smashing hit, attendees asked event organizers – or rather told them – “You are holding the show again next year, right?”

Beginning at 9 a.m. from June 23 to 25 on Route 23 in South Plymouth five miles west of Norwich, the Kreiner and Loomis families will hold their second annual show featuring antique gas engines, tractors, trucks/autos, and other equipment that give attendees a taste of what machinery was like 'back in the day.'

While no admission will be charged at the show, free-will donations are greatly appreciated but in no way expected. A complimentary wagon shuttle will reportedly run continually from the parking area to the main field.

Saturday, June 24 is expected to be the day the show hits its stride, and will feature a chicken barbecue beginning at 11 a.m.

A pancake breakfast will take place the following Sunday morning by Just 1 Tear – a non-profit group that will donate proceeds to supporting cancer patients who are going through treatment.

Other features of the show will include antique gas engine demonstrations on display, Blacksmith Travis “Bucky” Ashcraft demonstrating branding techniques, as well as a flea market and food offered by Just 1 Tear.

The Kreiners and Loomis's say their goal is to expand the show with every passing year. If you are an interested flea marketer or are interested in including your antique gas engine or antique farm equipment in the display, please contact Steve & Margaret Kreiner at (607) 334-8764 or Jackie Kreiner at (607) 334-2580.
