EDMESTON – The Edmeston PONY League team ripped into their visitors from Greene this past week, for a 10-3 win at home.
Edmeston defended their home on Thursday, June 15, recording three hits for 10 runs against the error riddled Greene squad – four errors.
“Nate Jennings had a triple and 2 RBIs in the bottom half of the first for Edmeston, helping Edmeston jump out to a 4-0 lead,” said Edmeston PONY League head coach Jay Lyon. “Greene chipped away with two runs in the third and one in the fourth before giving up four in the fifth.”
Edmeston had climbed to a 6-0 lead after the second inning, all before Greene was able to secure some solid production. Still down 6-3 – after the aforementioned Greene comeback attempt – Edmeston buried Greene with a four-run inning in the fifth.
The game was called after the top of the sixth inning due to darkness, as Edmeston earned the win at home.
Taking the loss for Greene was Trent Rapp – while Parker Robinson earned the win on the mound for Edmeston.
Despite having four hits between the two squads in the game, 13 runs were scored. Hogan Ludolph had Greene’s only hit in the fourth inning – Ludolph and Trent Rapp both had RBIs for Greene. Edmeston saw Garret Lum record a double, while Nate Jennings snagged a triple.
Edmeston (2-0) hosts Oxford this coming Thursday, June 22, while Greene (0-1) hosts Oxford Tuesday, June 20.

NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley PONY League team snagged a solid 14-10 win this past Thursday, besting Schenevus in a highly competitive game.
The nine inning game raged on as the two teams exchanged blows. UV found themselves on the right side after the first inning, up 3-2. However, the lead would extend to a 5-2 lead after the second inning – only to watch as Schenevus snagged a five-run third inning to claim their first lead at 7-5.
Tied at 10-10, Unadilla Valley would claim the final lead of the night when the ninth inning garnered a four-run outing.
The bats were on for both teams, as UV recorded 10 hits for 14 runs, while Schenevus had seven hits for 10 runs.
The problem, errors. The game was riddled with errors as both squads recorded nine a piece.
Unadilla Valley’s top batters in the game were: Cameron Osborne 2-5 with three runs and an RBI, Gavin Bonczkowski 2-4 with three runs and one RBI, Colin Grant 2-5 with two runs and three RBI, and Brandon Kneale 2-5 with three runs. Garrett Proskine would only go 1-4 but would secure three RBI and two walks in the process.
UV pitchers – Osborne (five innings) and Bonczkowski (four innings) – combined for seven strikeouts and eight walks in the win.
Next up for Unadilla Valley PONY League (1-1) they will be traveling to Milford on Tuesday, June 20, for a game which is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
