Unadilla Valley PONY League triumphs in back-and-forth battle

NEW BERLIN – In what was an enthralling contest from start to finish, the Unadilla Valley PONY League team used a late two-run surge in the final inning to clinch a 10-8 victory against Milford PONY League.

Two singles, a hit by pitch, and a steal of home plate by Garrett Proskine secured the two-run win for UV.

Milford took an early 3-1 lead after the opening inning, but the UV bats came alive in the third inning, erupting for four runs. Milford fired right back in the bottom frame, scoring three runs of their own to keep a hold of the lead by the slimmest of margins.
