Sherburne Rotary presents: 27th Summer Concert Season

SHERBURNE – Sherburne Rotary is proud to announce the lineup for the 27th Summer Concert Season at Gaines Park in Sherburne.

Beginning on Wednesday, July 5 and running every Wednesday evening through August 2, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Gaines Park in Sherburne will play venue to a number of area-bands.

The Beadle Brothers will bring its high energy country music to the park to kick-off the Summer Concert Season on July 5. The band is well-known locally for its frequent shows at Turning Stone Casino as well as its appearances as an opening act for a number of national recording artists.

On July 12, the Atkinson Family Band – from the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains – will perform its bluegrass music featuring “tight harmonies” for all who attend. Sherburne Rotary reports that the family band performs a style all of its own: an acoustic genre of American bluegrass and folk music with a refreshing twist.

Horn Dogs – who Sherburne Rotary refers to as Central New York’s top party and horn band – will take to the stage on July 19, showcasing a blend of R&B, motown, funk, disco, dance, and classic rock. Featuring nine musicians, the Horn Dogs are said to elicit head-bobbing among listeners young and old.

On the evening of July 26, the Bruce Beadle Band will take to the stage showcasing a wide-range of cover music and Bruce’s “smooth yet powerful vocals.” Featuring Bruce Beadle who has been performing since he was 13, the band is no stranger to performing all over the east coast.

For the Summer Concert Season’s final show of the season, the Realtime Dixieland Band will introduce attendees to its ever-forming style. Comprised of a new group of nine seasoned musicians who have previously played with other bands, the Realtime Dixieland Band will entertain with traditional dixieland music. Five of the band’s nine members are either current-or-retired music teachers.

Plenty of food options will be offered at the concerts including hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, pulled pork sandwiches, french fries, popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream, and homemade pies. A 50/50 raffle will also take place at each show. Proceeds will be donated to local food banks.

In the event of inclement weather, the previously-listed bands will take to either the Sherburne Fire Department or the Sherburne-Earlville Central School auditorium. Signs will be posted to notify attendees of a venue change in this case.

The Summer Concert Season is brought to you by the Sherburne Rotary in conjunction with local businesses and individuals who have supported the series financially and in donations of services and goods.

Gaines Park is located on State Rt. 80 East beside the Sherburne Library.
