Two arrested on charges of selling heroin
NORWICH – City of Norwich Police reports that two individuals sit in a local jail following their arrest for knowingly and unlawfully selling heroin.
Adam J. Daring, 31, and Kristine M. Tiffany, 33, were arrested on Thursday, July 6 and were each charged with the criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony. It's reported in this instance that the narcotic drug in question was heroin. Daring and Tiffany's residencies are both listed as homeless.
Norwich Police Department reports that an investigation, which included members of NPD and the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, led to the arrest of Daring and Tiffany. Furthermore, it's reported that the investigation leading to the arrests spanned just over one month.
"The investigation revealed that both Daring and Tiffany were selling heroin in public areas in the City of Norwich," said Norwich Police. "There came a point during the investigation where the Norwich Police requested and received arrest warrants for both Daring and Tiffany. On Thursday evening, [July 6], both individuals were arrested on those warrants by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office at a residence in the Town of Oxford. They were returned to the Norwich Police Department and held in the city lockup pending their arraignments Friday morning, [July 7]."
It's further reported that Daring and Tiffany were remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail. Both are scheduled to reappear in Norwich City Court on Tuesday, July 11.
It is noted that the charges above are allegations and all individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
