CHENANGO COUNTY – The All American BMX riders planned on practicing – with no competition this past weekend – however, that itch to compete was too much, giving in to just one race at Tri-City BMX, on Friday, July 7.
“(We) may take the weekend off and just train here,” said Dave Lawson, All American BMX coach prior to the decision to race on Sunday.
The idea behind the break in competition for this past weekend, being prepared, being rested, and being all-around ready for the upcoming busy slate of races the next few weekends.

The All American BMX team has some big races coming up. On the weekend of July 14 through July 16, the team will be at Tri-City BMX on Friday for a Double Points Race. On Saturday, July 15, the team will be racing in a Double Points New York State Qualifier, and on Sunday, July 16, the team will be competing in a Triple Point Gold Cup qualifier.
The All American BMX team has their next few weekends full, racing on Saturday, July 23, at Champion Speedway BMX for a Double Points New York State qualifier – followed by racing on Saturday, July 29, at Grippen Park BMX for another Double Points New York State qualifier.
“Huge event with tough competition from neighboring state riders,” said coach Lawson of the competition his riders will face this weekend.
