NORWICH – In the wake of the 2017 Relay for Life of Chenango County in Norwich’s East Park last Friday, July 14, Event Chair Kristina Shaw says a total of $85,686.53 has been raised between participating relay teams and the event’s sponsors to go towards funding research to fight cancer.
Team Determination led the way for the relay teams this year, raising a total of $13,031.57. Behind them was the UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital team, who raised $8,610.00, and then DCMO BOCES Class Act, who raised $6,938.78. Frontier Friends for a Cure also raised a notable dollar amount with $6,320.57.
It’s noted by Shaw that donations for the 2017 Relay for Life season will continue to be accepted through August 20 of this year. If you would like to donate to the cause as part of its last push in 2017, visit relayforlife.org/chenangocountyny and click ‘donate.’
