2017 Greater Norwich Foundation Scholarship recipients announced

NORWICH – The 2017 Greater Norwich Foundation Scholarship recipients gathered at NBT Bank in Norwich on Monday, July 17.
Recent graduates of Norwich High School and recipients of the Greater Norwich Foundation scholarships are as follows: the Alan Horovitz All Around Student Award, Kara Evans, attending Nazareth College; the Alan Horovitz Sports Person of the Year Award, Cole Rifanburg, attending SUNY Morrisville; the Clara Robbins Memorial Scholarship Awards, Gabrielle Mirabito, attending Binghamton University; Katelyn Dowdall attending Nazareth College; Mackenzie Maynard attending University of Alabama; Elizabeth Eddy attending Gannon University; the Marcia Stewart Memorial Scholarship, Christopher Jeffrey attending St. Lawrence University; the Esther C. Flanagan Scholarship, Alexis Llewellyn attending SUNY Morrisville; the Thomas H. Ivory Scholarship, Benjamin Scheer attending Clarkson University; the H. William Smith Jr. Technical Scholarship, Benjamin Ericksen attending Penn College of Technology; the Joseph Rotundo Memorial Athletic Scholarship, Ky’Sawn Veale attending SUNY Cortland; the Margaret Newton Forsythe Scholarship, Cierra Sherman attending University of Alabama; the Harrison and Betty Edwards Science Scholarship, Stephen Barnes attending SUNY Albany; the John and James Westcott Memorial Scholarship, Anna Gantt attending SUNY Morrisville.
In total, over $70,000 in scholarships was awarded this year by the Greater Norwich Foundation. In addition to the above scholarships, the Greater Norwich Foundation provided a total of $363,415 to non-profit community organizations in the greater-Norwich area during the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017.
