Greater Norwich Golf HOF donates $1,000 to Roots & Wings

NORWICH – The Greater Norwich Golfers’ Hall of Fame held its annual best ball tournament on Saturday, July 15, at Canawawacta Country Club.
A total of 24 teams competed for prizes donated by local golf courses in the form of rounds of golf for the winners.
“Local sponsors give in a big way by paying entry fees for some teams or by putting a tee sign on the course,” said Denny Mirabito, the tournament chairman. “Without their support, we would not be able to make our donation, this year, to Roots & Wings, a division of Catholic Charities.”
Tournament co-chair, Jim Wysor, added, “each year the Hall of Fame Tournament picks a local charity to make a donation to. This year, we were able to donate $1000 to Roots & Wings.”
The Hall of Fame and Catholic Charities would like to extend their sincere thanks to all of the players and sponsors.
