Oxford Memorial Library presents: 2017 Carnival
OXFORD – Come one! Come all! To the Oxford Memorial Library’s Annual Carnival, Saturday August 12 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be lots of things to keep you busy while you are there. There will be games and activities, prizes and food, along with raffles and a “Chinese Auction”. Items in the “Chinese Auction” and the Quilt Raffle have been donated by local craftsmen and women, along with a few donations from local businesses. All proceeds will go towards funding for future library programs and supplies.
This year there will be a few new booths set up by local businesses and organizations. The SPCA will be here again, along with Evolve Fitness, Friends Of Rogers, SNAP and Fidelis, along with the Fire Station who will have their trucks on display for everyone to check out. DeAnna Ross will be here, again, to do hair braiding. A new addition to the Carnival this year will be a Book Nook. Different ones from around the community have volunteered to take turns sitting and reading to anyone who wishes to hear a story.
As the Library will be closed while the Carnival is going on, the Library has set up a special raffle for those who make a special effort to come in Saturday morning from 9:30am to 1pm. If you come in and check out books, for every book you check out, your name is entered into the Raffle to win a very special prize. The prize will be on display in the library on the 12th for you to check out while you are checking out your books. You do not want to miss this opportunity.
There will also be a BIG BOOK SALE going on during the Carnival in the Community Room. There are a lot of books of all sorts for sale for all ages. You will be able to access it by means of the handicap ramp at the side of the building. Again, all proceeds go towards funding for the Library.
There is so much that is going to be going on at the Carnival that there is not enough room to tell you everything! So be sure to come on down and see it all for yourself!
