Norwich Girls are handed tough first loss

Chenango Valley 1, Norwich 0

NORWICH – Last season, the Purple Tornado lost to Chenango Valley 3-0. This fall, they well out looking for redemption but fell just short.

With evenly match teams made the game have a ping-pong like feel, the first half ended in a zero-zero tie. That changed early in the second half, when Chenango Valley’s Sara Marinaro took an unassisted shot from outside the six yard box, taking a 1-0 lead.

Norwich had many chances to close the one goal gap but couldn’t capitalize, ultimately taking the heartbreaking loss.
