Bainbridge-Guilford volleyball flips script for 3-0 win over Sidney
SIDNEY – After suffering a staggering 0-3 loss, the lady Bobcats of Bainbridge-Guilford corrected some wrongs to reverse the roles and go for the shutout, 3-0 win.
Decisively, B-G pounced on the Warriors for 25-5 first set win. Sidney would return to attempt to defend their home court in the final two sets – losing 25-19 and 25-13. However, the solid play of the Selfridge sisters, as well as Miranda Anderson and Zamira Caldwell proved to be too much for Sidney to grasp.
Leading the charge in the 3-0 win was Abigail Selfridge with 3 Aces, 15 Assists, 5 Kills. Selfridge was followed by her younger sister, Erica Selfridge at 3 Aces, 10 Assists, 5 Kills, Miranda Anderson with 6 Kills, and Zamira Caldwell with 3 Aces, 4 Kills.
Sidney’s top individual performers were: Alyssa Hawkins at 1 Ace, 1 Kill, 13 Digs, Makayla Hurd at 1 Ace, 5 Digs, Julia Obeada at 14 digs, Ale Johnson at 6 digs, and Baylee Jones at 2 Aces, 1 dig.
With the road win, Thursday night, August 31, the lady Bobcats have taken their first win of the season and now move to 1-1 overall. Next up for B-G volleyball, they will travel to play Chenango Forks on September 6, at 6:30 p.m.
