MUNNSVILLE- The early offensive effort from the Otselic Valley Viking proved to not be enough as the Stockbridge Valley Cougars rallied with three unanswered goals to win by a final score of 3-1.
The boys from OV opened the scoring in the early minutes of the contest with a penalty kick from Lane Adams. From there, the Otselic Valley defense pressured the Cougar offense until a late first half lapse allowed Stockbridge Valley to tie the game.
Off of a Viking miscue, the Cougar’s Andrew Renner corralled the loose ball before charging forward and delivering a heater into the back of the net with 2:45 remaining in the first half. However, this wasn’t the last time that the Cougars would take advantage of Renner’s offensive prowess.
