Bainbridge-Guilford volleyball owns Silver bracket in U-E tourney
ENDICOTT – Why play bigger, sometimes better schools? The answer is simple according to Bainbridge-Guilford head volleyball coach, Tami Selfridge, to get better through high levels of competition.
Great day of high level play. Exactly why we go to tournaments,” said coach Selfridge.
On Saturday, September 9, the lady Bobcats of Bainbridge-Guilford made the trip to Union-Endicott High School to face off against some high-powered Binghamton area teams – and beyond.
The result, a couple of hard-fought losses and a Silver Bracket championship.
(It was a) really great tournament. Our pool was pretty tough,” said coach Selfridge.
Bainbridge-Guilford originally entered into pool play – in order to determine brackets.
B-G opened slow with a loss to Windsor at 0-2 – 25-16, and 25-21. Following the two opening set losses B-G dropped two more, losing to Oswego at 0-2 – 25-14 and 25-22.
Following the two losses to Windsor and Oswego, B-G corrected some wrongs to rip off wins over Solvay and Johnson City. The lady Bobcats took a 2-0 win over Solvay at 25-18,25-15 and the 2-0 win over Johnson City at 25-14 and 25-14.
