318 employees lend a hand in fifth Alvogen Day Community Clean-up
NORWICH – Norwich Pharmaceuticals employees took to the streets of the city on Friday, September 15 as part of the fifth annual Alvogen Day Community Clean-up.
For five straight years, employees at Norwich Pharmaceutical have taken part in a community clean-up project where its employees split into teams to work on different projects around the city.
"This is really what working for Alvogen here in Norwich is about: getting out and working together as a team," said Alvogen Vice President of Operations, Charlie Andrews. "It's really, really special."
This year, Alvogen Human Resources Manager Luke Murphy said 318 employees lended a hand as part of its efforts.
City of Norwich Mayor Christine Carnrike attended the opening statements at Alvogen Day, saying, "The City of Norwich and entire community are grateful for the volunteerism and the spirit that comes to us these last four years from Alvogen.
"I'm very proud of Norwich and ever so grateful to Charlie [Andrews], Alvogen, and all of you," Carnrike told Alvogen employees Friday.
"Your commitment to employees, and your employees' commitment to community––we all win today. Thank you for the dedication, thank you for your good deeds, and congratulations on 130 years."
